Sunanda - Dada Desi Co-curator

Sunanda is a Delhi-born, Bangkok-raised producer, comedian and writer. She has lived and worked in New York and Los Angeles, producing festivals, concerts, films, etc, before moving to Melbourne last year. She has also trained and performed at all the comedy institutions in Los Angeles. Sunanda is one of the producers and co-curators for the Dada-Desi Mentoring Program as part of Sangam Festival. As an emerging artist herself, she constantly works towards creating community and development opportunities for marginalized artists to truly express themselves without feeling the pressure of being the token on any line-up.

 

Priya Pavri - Producer

Priya Pavri is an independent curator and producer currently based in Narrm/Birraranga (Melbourne, Australia). Her work explores how art can address issues of social and political importance and present layered and complex truths, while building empathy and understanding for experiences and stories outside your own. 

With a background in Law and Arts, Priya has lead community projects in the not-for-profit and government sector in urban and remote Australia, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. She has a history of growing community projects and organisations through unique and creative endeavours, and is committed to seeking alternative models of working with community to challenge existing leadership and governance structures.

She has worked with organisations including Next Wave Festival, Road to Refuge, ArtsGen and Multicultural Arts Victoria.

In 2019, Priya received a Carclew Fellowship for Social Justice and the Arts, to develop her curatorial and film practice. Most recently, she curated Illusion a multi-venue exhibition on Kaurna Country (Adelaide, Australia).

 

Varsha Ramesh - Producer

Varsha Ramesh (she/her) is a dancer, actor, teacher and entrepreneur from Chennai, India. Before moving to Naarm/Melbourne, she co-founded and managed Jellyfish Dance Company and was a core performing member of High Kicks, Chennai’s first and only all-woman dance ensemble. She is a passionate advocate for inclusion and intersectional representation in the arts. On a journey of growth, she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne.

 

Shweta Kawatra - Marketing and Communications Advisor

Shweta joins our team in an advisory capacity. An Indian-Australian, she has lived in Delhi, Mumbai (India), Dubai, Melbourne, Launceston (Australia)  and Jakarta (Indonesia) before moving back to Melbourne in 2019. She has over 20 years of experience in Communications across a range of sectors including Film, Television, Arts, Education and is currently the Marketing Communications Manager for Ausdance Victoria.  A passionate Human Rights Advocate, she is also on the Board of a learning centre for Refugees in Jakarta.

 

Simone - Social Media and Marketing

Simone Etheve (she/her) is a dancer, performer and overall creative born in Melbourne with a mixed cultural background of Thai and French-Seychellois it has allowed her to tell stories and create movement that is diverse. Simone has completed her bachelors degree in Media and Communications (Journalism) at RMIT University and has a love and passion for intertwining diversity in the arts and journalism.
